Primero is an exceptionally easy and loving companion. He was instantly at home after meeting his foster parent and is a classic Velcro dog. He does not want to leave your side and would happily accompany you to the bathroom, the garage, the bedroom, and of course the kitchen (especially when you browse the refrigerator!). He loves cuddles, scratches, and more cuddles. His favorite place to rest his head will be somewhere on your body (maybe your lap, your chest, or over your shoulder…he’s not picky!). You may even wonder if you’ve grown a new appendage in the shape of a greyhound. Eating and playing with toys are also his favorite pastimes. He bounces with excitement at mealtimes or when his people return home. He plays at all hours of the day, and he especially likes taking all of his toys out into the backyard. He’s a bit rough on the toys, but he’s not at all destructive in the home.
Primero has shown no signs of behavioral concerns whatsoever, and he would be an excellent choice for a first-time dog owner. No accidents, no separation anxiety, no counter surfing, no barking, no fear, and no aggression. He does not need to be crated when left alone, and he rides well in the car. With his level of energy, he occasionally pulls on the leash, but he has improved noticeably over a short period of time. He will need to be exercised on a regular basis. As of now, he prefers walking in quieter locations without all of the bikes, strollers, and people around to distract him, but he would probably get more used to this with time. Primero would do well in just about any environment. Apartment or house. Single- or multi-dog home. Kids or no kids. But he is not cat tolerant.
