Dog Day Afternoon 2003

On Saturday, June 21st, GU participated in the Operation Kindness
Dog Day Afternoon at Bob Woodruff Park in Plano along with several
other area rescue groups and vendors. Steve Cobb made sure that
all six of the GU dogs in attendance participated in that morning's
Honor Walk - walking in memory of Mocha, Panther and Belle, all
of whom recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Despite the extra warm and humid weather, we had a greyt crowd
and our dogs certainly got their share of attention. (Most frequently
heard comment that day? "Those sure are some fancy collars!!")
It was a wonderful opportunity to spread the word about the joys
of greyhound adoption!
Thanks to everyone who braved the heat to help make Dog Day Afternoon
(DDA) 2003 a success!
