PARADE
OF LIGHTS
Greyhounds
Take Over Ft. Worth Streets
Friday, November
24, 2000
Ok, so this headline
really didn't appear in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, but
we gave it our best shot. On November 24th, about 30 greyhounds
and their people marched as part of a "lighted walking unit"
in Fort Worth's annual Parade of Lights. This is GU's fifth year
appearing in the Parade of Lights. Our theme this year was All
Over The World - Save an Athlete, Adopt a Greyhound. Both
greys and their people had to be lighted - that is wear battery-powered
holiday lights.
The photos that appear
below show our numbers...and our lights. Click on a photo to see
an enlarged version.
The parade was a wonderful
experience. Our greys demonstrated what greyt companions they
really are to the cheers and applause of the crowds.
Special thanks go
to Susan and Mark Lemon, and Gail Clarkin for organizing GU's
participation in the Parade of Lights.
