Greyhounds Show Irish
Roots (and Brave Winter Winds)
March
2nd and 3rd, 2002
Ahhh, the luck of the Irish (in Dallas) blessed the 20th annual
North Texas Irish Festival (NTIF) last weekend (March 2nd and
3rd). As fate would have it, a late-season blast of Arctic air
kept patrons inside at Fair Park's Automobile and Centennial Buildings.
There they had ample opportunities to see greyhounds while listening
to Irish music.
Volunteers for Greyhounds Unlimited and their loyal hounds, braved
the freezing temperatures to staff a booth for both days. We invited
patrons to pet our greys, answered all questions, and shared our
stories. It was one of the best NTIF showings for GU in recent
years.
We want to thank the determined volunteers and board members
for braving the elements (and the roads) to make this event a
success:

to GU.
(We wish we had photos to share, but our photographer was busy
holding his greyhounds during the event.)
And don't forget, the NTIF is always held on the first weekend
of March
rain or shine. So mark your 2003 calendars now!
